Gorean Commands and Positions
Leading

I turned again to regard Taphris.
“Turn your hip out,” said Kenneth. “Place your feet like that,” he said, kicking
her right foot. “Suck in your gut. Put your palms on your thighs. Lift your
head”
Taphris was learning quickly that she was no longer in the house, but in the
stables, a province in which she was a woman and in which men were supreme.
“Bend over at the waist,” said Kenneth. “More!”
Her knees were flexed. Her head was then at his hip.
Kenneth stepped back from her. I could see that he was not displeased to have
the lovely Tahpris at his mercy.
She did not dare raise her head.
“Barus,” said Kenneth, “will show you your kennel, and your duties.”
“Yes, Master,” she said.
Barus placed his hand in her hair, grasping it firmly. She winced.
She had not moved her head, of course, for she knew she had been placed in a
common leading position for slave girls.
She tried to look up at Kenneth, but the hand of Barus did not permit it. She
must look to the dirt at her feet.
Barus turned away from us, leading her. FIGHTING SLAVE OF GOR; 14; Page
249 “On your feet, Taphris,” said Kenneth, “head down, in leading
position.” He bent down to retrieve her slave rag. I drew on my tunic.
Taphris stood, bent over, her knees bent, too, her head at the hip of
Kenneth. FIGHTING SLAVE OF GOR; 14; Page 309 “Head in
leading position,” I said.
“I am the Lady Florence!” she said.
I took her head by the hair and held it at my hip. “Oh,” she sobbed. It was
thus that I had seen one of the brigands leading Bonnie into her new
slavery, one in which she would serve not a woman, but men.
“Oh,” said the girl, in pain. “Please, you’re hurting me. What are you going
to do?”
“Be silent,” I said. “I have a plan.”
“Oh,” sobbed the girl, running beside me, bent over. Though she were the
Lady Florence, a free woman of Vonda, I conducted her beside me as though
she might have been a slave girl. FIGHTING SLAVE OF GOR; 14; Pages
335-336 “Leading position,” he said.
Sobbing, she rose to her feet and put her head down at what would be the
height of a man’s waist, her legs flexed. A guard walked over and fastened
his hand in her hair. “Have her whipped,” said Policrates. “Yes Captain,”
said the man. He then left the chamber, pulling the girl sobbing at his
side. I was pleased to see that Policrates was a strict master. The girl was
of course, guilty, she had clearly hesitated in carrying out a command. How
can a girl expect such laxities to go unnoticed or unpunished?
Policrates then, nodded to the men who held me. “Take him away,” he said.
I was then dragged from the room. ROGUE OF GOR; 15; Pages 288-289
“Leading position,” said Drusus Rencius.
I put my head down to his waist and he fastened his left hand in my hair.
“Tal, Citizen,” said Drusus Rencius to the fellow passing us in the alley.
“Tal,” he said.
It was in this fashion, my head down, his hand in my hair, my head turned to
the side, hair, too, about my face and features, obscuring them, that Drusus
Rencius had chosen to convey me past strangers in the alleys, coming and
going to the house of Kliomenes. There was little danger I would be
recognized. When we had passed the stranger he released my hair and I again
straightened up. I was following him, generally, a little behind and on his
left. It seemed appropriate that I, in my disguise, might seem to heel him,
as though I might be a mere slave. It seemed to me that he had held my hair
more tightly than be had needed to, when we had passed the stranger. I still
wore the slave bracelets. He had declined to remove them when we had left
the house of Kliomenes. In his steel, heeling him, occasionally being put
into leading position by him, I felt much in his power. KAJIRA OF GOR;

swiftly put my head down and felt his fingers lock themselves deeply in my
hair. I turned my head and pressed my lips suddenly, helplessly, to his
thigh, kissing him. He twisted my head cruelly to the side, holding it
there, turned, so that my lips could not touch him. My eyes brimmed with
tears, not only from the pain, but more so, from the fact that I had been
rejected. KAJIRA OF GOR; 19; Page 153 The fellow who had
gone to fetch the girls now returned. He had the two girls with him. The
hands of each, by a cord knotted about their waist, were tied before their
bodies. He drew them after him, in leading position, each bent over, by the
hair. He then twisted them about and flung them to their backs in the dirt,
by the fire. The leader of the brigands then took a flaming brand from the
fire and holding it over the girls passed it back and forth, over their
bodies, scanning them, examining them in the dancing light. He tossed the
brand back into the flames. “We will keep them,” he said. PLAYERS OF
GOR; 20; Page 181 Boots then drew her to her feet and held her
head, bent down, by the hair, at his waist, in leading position. Her hands
were still tied behind her. “Lecchio, Chino, Andronicus, Petrucchio, if you
would,” said Boots, “bring along these other things, whatever seems of
value.” PLAYERS OF GOR; 20; Page 202 I took her by the
hair with my left hand and held her head by my side in a common slave-girl
leading position. I then moved carefully toward the temporary slave camp.
None of the other fellows offered to bar my way. They, however, hung about
me, as closely, I gather, as they dared. VAGABONDS OF GOR; 24; Page
448 Her master seized her from the circle then and hurried her
from the light, her head down, held by the hair, at his left hip. This is a
common leading position for female slaves being conducted short distances.
As the master holds her hair in the left hand, it leaves his right hand,
commonly the sword hand, free. MAGICIANS OF GOR; 25; Page 46
Then, to the delight of the audience, she reached forth and, holding the
fellow’s leg, and pressing herself against it, kissed him humbly, timidly,
lovingly, about the thigh.
“And I,” said the ponderous fellow, “may have learned something, too, about
how to be a master.”
There was then applause and cheering, and bows were taken by the troupe, the
assistants and the ponderous fellow, and the girl, for her part, performing
obeisance to the audience, and then, to the delight of the audience, being
conducted off, in her chains, with tiny, short steps, no more permitted her
by the linkage on her ankle rings, in a common slave girl leading position,
bent over at the waist, drawn along at the master’s side by the hair.
